FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Here you will find answers to the most important questions about being out and about & traveling in old age, as well as about emergency watches:
Who is the emergency watch for?
Emergency watches are particularly suitable for active seniors who live alone or in a partnership. Older people who are active and mobile, whether at home, in nature, or traveling.
Emergency call watches offer an easily accessible safety solution for seniors in everyday life, as they enable immediate help in emergency situations, such as a fall.
For severely dependent individuals, other emergency call systems such as home emergency call systems are more suitable.
Does this emergency watch also work abroad?
Yes. Our anela emergency watch comes with an integrated SIM & Premium Care Package.
The mobile plan covers the entire EU (27 countries) + Switzerland, Liechtenstein, the United Kingdom, Norway and Iceland.
Our mobile plan always uses the best available 4G mobile network, regardless of the provider.
It is therefore a mobile plan optimised for emergency watches with the highest level of protection.
Why is an emergency watch more practical than an emergency cell phone?
An emergency watch has a crucial advantage over an emergency mobile phone in that it is worn permanently on the wrist and thus provides immediate help in any situation: while sleeping in bed, showering, or cycling.
The emergency mobile phone is also easy to use in emergency situations and offers the option of calling emergency services or relatives. However, it can happen that the phone is not within reach when it is urgently needed – for example, if it is lying on a table and the person falls down the stairs.
In such cases, the emergency watch offers immediate help, regardless of where you are.
Can the emergency watch also locate the person?
Basically, yes. However, we only use the transmission of GPS location data if an emergency is triggered by the wearer of the watch.
If an emergency call is accepted, this emergency contact receives an SMS with a link to Google Maps and the exact location data of the watch wearer.
To best protect the privacy of the watch wearer, we refrain from constant location monitoring using GPS data.
What is the advantage of an emergency call watch compared to a home emergency call system?
The home emergency call system only works at home. If the person is out walking, shopping, or on their way to a meeting, they cannot call for help using the home emergency call system.
The emergency watch, however, works both indoors and outdoors, as it is connected to the mobile network.
This makes the emergency watch well-suited for active and mobile seniors.
Which emergency contacts are called by the watch?
Precisely the emergency contacts that you choose yourself. Most emergency contacts typically come from the "Friends & Family" circle.
Additionally, you can specify selected caregivers and care facilities.
As the last emergency contact – your emergency contact No. 6 – we recommend entering the European emergency number 112. This is available free of charge throughout the EU.
